It’s been another year already. There have been a lot of ups and downs with the project but overall I’m pleased with having a little more direction with the project and look forward to it becoming a true artist community this year.
The first order of business is of course to recap from 2013. Things were crazy for me healthwise and also financially so there was definitely a halt in progress but in the aspect of design and really solidifying what I want for the project is a major plus.Moving forward in 2014 I have a much more concrete foundation and most of the boards are already installed. I also started moving forward on providing better information with a new knowledgebase in the works ,a more comprehensive TOS and a lot of new ideas for the forum.
Going into 2014 the final version of the site will be implemented. It will be a registration based artist community that will combine the central theme of oekaki but complimented with extra features and different levels of access. It will still be free but I’m going to provide some features exclusive to donors and staff.
Now of course I am limited quite a bit in work time due to my work commutes during the week but I’m developing a much more realistic timeline for the revised update schedule which you can find in the Update Log.
After a lot of consideration I decided to invest in the MemberKit script which will allow for a lot of expansion and a more organized community experience. Unregistered users will still have access to the Project HaevenArts oekaki board but once the full site opens that board will not allow safety saves or a canvas over 700 x 700 and will have a much shorter autodelete time. Also if a paintchat becomes available it will most likely be a feature only available to registered members.
Depending on how much I decide it will help the project I may or may not keep the DA group open.It will really come down to how much I see it impacting the project and whether it might be a conflict of interest having that small tie to another artist community.
The following listing will be the boards featured on the site. All boards with a * are planned for later on,possibly early 2015. All specialty boards will in pre-registration status until at least 25 people have registered for them. They will also have independent logins.
Any board with an independent login will require a registration through that board that will only allow access to that board. Any board listed under the universal login will allow you to use the same login on each one.
