Please Note: Development of the community is on hold until early 2017 due to lack of funds and other circumstances. Please feel free to use the open oekaki and stay tuned for more around March 2017.
I want to first thank all the awesome services that have been part of the project thus far, especially my amazing host x10premium, Wacoon for his work with the Wacintaki script, and all the wonderful PHP developers behind the other scripts I’ve used. I’ll be trying my best to use the Twitter frequently and keep everyone posted via blog.If you are interested in being part of the project sooner rather than later you can contact me via e-mail.
I’d also like to really shout out to the services I will be retiring use of in the new model of the project. They are all wonderful free services I’d recommend to anyone.
The forum from Website Toolbox http://www.websitetoolbox.com/index.html
Shoutboxes form C-box http://www.cbox.ws/
The CSS template from http://www.stylishtemplate.com/
The menu script from Site Gadgets http://www.sitegadgets.com/
The guestbook from http://tufat.com/
Moving forward I’ll be focusing on a more organized model for the project. The aim will be a fully featured community and a wide range of art forms. The main feature will still be oekaki but there will be a lot more focus on member interaction, personal growth and helpful artist resources.
The new outline will feature three project types:
Dual Purpose Projects:elements that will be used as community features but also as standalone products
Core Projects:elements that will be core parts of the member area
Companion Projects: gradually added elements that will expand on the art forms shared in the community
Before any of these stages begin I will be doing a reassessment of the project which will include:
Redoing the project outline
Reviewing and modifying the Terms of Use
Redoing the security site
Restructuring the boards and policies
Doing a script inventory and budget
Estimated Site Opening is TBA
Stage One: Staffing and Support
I have yet to find the best formula for this portion of the project but this time around it’s getting put first so I have time to review applications and collect funds before unveiling the site.
As time goes by and features are added or membership numbers increase new staff positions will open to accommodate. Support options will also be more versatile. Different options such as a banner exchange, member privileges and donation incentives will be used to draw a wider range of support and add more benefits to being part of the project. Light elements of SEO will also be done at this stage.
